Clearing a Bonus, Step by Step

Whether a bonus is money or just decoration comes down to one condition: the wagering requirement. Before the bonus and anything won with it can be withdrawn, this much has to be staked — which is why big headline offers so often turn out small.

The base of the multiplier

Read this first, because the same number means two different things depending on the base. When the base is the BONUS, 30x means 30 times the credited amount. A 30x requirement on DEPOSIT PLUS BONUS is 30 times the two combined, which on a matched deposit is exactly double the play. The terms say which, and the difference is the difference between a long evening and a lost month.

The arithmetic

MultiplierPlay needed to clear 1.000 RSD of bonusWhat that means
0xNoneWinnings are cash at once
1x1.000 RSDOne evening
5x5.000 RSDA weekend of tickets
30x30.000 RSDAnother hobby

Read the multiplier in the offer terms first, then find its row. A 0x offer and a 30x offer are not two versions of the same thing.

Why 5x and 30x do not compare

It is easy to read 30x on slots as a bigger version of 5x on sport. The difference is one of kind, not size. On sport each ticket wins or loses, and turnover builds in large steps; a handful of tickets at the minimum odds can clear it in a weekend, and a run of winners clears it while growing the balance. On slots, turnover accumulates in spins of a few dinars against a fixed house edge, so the requirement is met by grinding, and the expected cost of the grinding is a known percentage of everything staked.

Comparing a sports multiplier with a slots one makes no sense, and at the same advertised size the low slots figure is worth more.

What always comes with the multiplier

The multiplier never arrives on its own. Minimum odds filter the tickets that count, and a short-priced favourite rarely gets through, so the turnover takes real risk. The expiry shows whether you can get there without raising your usual stakes; seven days on a 30x requirement is a different offer from thirty days on the same figure. Game weighting decides how much each bet contributes: table games usually count partly, slots fully, and a few games not at all.

Mistakes that quietly undo turnover

  • A ticket cashed out early. Such a ticket almost never counts, and that is where most requirements turn out unmet.
  • Tickets priced under the minimum, which are accepted but not counted.
  • Staking bonus money on bets the rules reserve for your own funds.
  • Cashing out real money mid-bonus. Since the balances are kept apart, such a withdrawal can forfeit the rest of the bonus.

One habit is worth more than understanding any of this in detail: ask, before accepting, whether you would stake the required turnover without the bonus. An offer that asks for more play than you would do anyway is leading you, not rewarding you, so saying no is an ordinary choice. For current offers and their terms, see the bonuses hub.
